چکیده
The use of interfacial layers to stabilize the lithium surface is a popular research direction for improving morphology deposited and suppressing dendrite formation. This work considers different approach controlling formation where plated underneath an coating. In present research, Li–Sn intermetallic was chosen as model system due its lithium-rich phases high Li diffusivity. These coatings also exhibit significantly higher exchange current than bare thus leading better charge transfer kinetics. instrumental in determining whether deposition occurs above or below High-resolution transmission electron microscopy cryogenic focused ion beam scanning were used identify features associated with deposition. متن کاملLUDOX® Colloidal Silica in Coatings Lithium Polysilicate in Coatings
LUDOX® colloidal silicas are aqueous dispersions of very small silica particles in the low nanometer size range. Many grades are offered in this family, giving broad flexibility for specific performance targets. This bulletin aims to inform the formulator about the unique properties of LUDOX® colloidal silica and to offer starting points for applications such as anticorrosive coatings and archi...
متن کاملElectrochemical in situ investigations of SEI and dendrite formation on the lithium metal anode.
This comparative work studies the self-enforcing heterogeneity of lithium deposition and dissolution as the cause for dendrite formation on the lithium metal anode in various liquid organic solvent based electrolytes. In addition, the ongoing lithium corrosion, its rate and thus the passivating quality of the SEI are investigated in self-discharge measurements. The behavior of the lithium anode...
متن کاملThe synergetic effect of lithium polysulfide and lithium nitrate to prevent lithium dendrite growth.
Lithium metal has shown great promise as an anode material for high-energy storage systems, owing to its high theoretical specific capacity and low negative electrochemical potential. Unfortunately, uncontrolled dendritic and mossy lithium growth, as well as electrolyte decomposition inherent in lithium metal-based batteries, cause safety issues and low Coulombic efficiency. Here we demonstrate...
متن کاملTi-Cr-N Coatings Deposited by Physical Vapor Deposition on AISI D6 Tool Steels
In this study, physical vapor deposition (PVD) Ti-Cr-N coatings were deposited at two different temperatures 100 and 400ºC on hardened and tempered tool steel substrates. The influence of the applied deposition temperature on the physical and mechanical properties of coatings such as roughness, thickness, phase composition, hardness and Young’s modulus were evaluated. Phase compositions were st...
